Catalytic Converter RH

Removal

NOTE: Always install new fasteners and gaskets. Clean flange faces prior to new gasket installation to make sure of correct sealing.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

1. Remove the HO2S .
   Refer to: Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) RH (303-14A Electronic Engine Controls - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS), Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the catalyst monitor sensor.
   Refer to: Catalyst Monitor Sensor RH (303-14A Electronic Engine Controls - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS), Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the exhaust Y-pipe.
   Refer to: Exhaust Y-Pipe (309-00B Exhaust System - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS), Removal and Installation).
   

1. Torque : 10 Nm

1. Remove the RH roll restrictor.
   Refer to: Roll Restrictor RH (307-01A Automatic Transmission - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F50, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Torque : 12 Nm

Installation

1. Tighten the nuts in this sequence in 2 stages.
   

1. 1. Stage 1
      Torque : 25 Nm
   2. Stage 2
      Torque : 25 Nm
   3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
