Heated Steering Wheel Module (HSWM)

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, REFER to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

  1. If a new HSWM is being installed, connect the scan tool and upload the module configuration information from the HSWM . For additional information on configuration,

  1. Refer to: Driver Knee Airbag (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).
  1. NOTE: Follow the unique instructions for this step in installation.

    Torque : 2.5 Nm
  1. NOTE: Vehicles without power adjustable steering column shown, vehicles with power adjustable steering column similar.

  1. Torque : 2.5 Nm

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. NOTE: Anytime the parking brake switch electrical connector has been disconnected, the EPB system is deactivated and a DTC is stored in the ABS module. Perform the following step to restore the EPB system and clear the ABS module DTC .

    Apply and release the parking brake twice, pausing with the switch in the NEUTRAL (AT REST) position between apply and release.
