Instrument Panel Upper Section

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

LH Instrument panel upper section

NOTE: The instrument panel upper section is separated into LH and RH sections.

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
  1. LH side.
    Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the FCIM .
    Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: THX Audio System, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the LH and RH ambient light connectors.
  1. Torque : 2.5 Nm

RH Instrument panel upper section

NOTE: The instrument panel upper section is separated into LH and RH sections.

NOTE: The LH instrument panel upper section must be removed prior to removing the RH instrument panel upper section.

  1. Remove the FCIM .
    Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display, Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (415-00B Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: THX Audio System, Removal and Installation).
  1. RH side.
    Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
  1. Torque : 2.5 Nm
  1. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Ignition must remain OFF until repair is complete. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

    Torque : 10 Nm
  1. Torque : 2.5 Nm

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
