Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

   Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
   

1. 1. To remove the mirror assembly carry out steps 3 through 9.
      
   2. To remove the mirror glass carry out steps 10 through 11.
      
   3. To remove the mirror motor carry out steps 12 through 14.
      
   4. To remove the mirror mounted turn signal lamp carry out steps 15 through 21.
      
   5. To remove the puddle lamp carry out step 22.
      

Exterior rear view mirror assembly

1. Refer to: Front Door Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. NOTE: Access the exterior rear view mirror connector through the front door speaker opening.

1. Torque : 9 Nm

Exterior rear view mirror glass

1. NOTE: Driver side only

   Inspect the mirror glass stabilization springs. If the mirror glass stabilization springs are damaged, replace the mirror glass.
   

Exterior rear view mirror motor

1. NOTE: Driver side only

   Inspect the mirror glass stabilization springs. If the mirror glass stabilization springs are damaged, replace the mirror glass.
   

1. Carry out this step only when replacing the motor.
   

Exterior rear view mirror mounted turn signal lamp

1. NOTE: Driver side only

   Inspect the mirror glass stabilization springs. If the mirror glass stabilization springs are damaged, replace the mirror glass.
   

Puddle lamp

1. NOTE: Carry out this step only if a new puddle lamp is being installed.

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
