Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

  1. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS), Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 3.7L Duratec (227kW/301PS), Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE: If an internal problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. If an excessive amount of metal or friction material is present, the transmission will need to be overhauled.

    Torque : 9 Nm

  1. NOTE: Note the location of the studbolts for assembly.

Installation

  1. NOTE: Install the studbolts in the correct locations as noted during disassembly.

    Loosley install the bolts.
  1. Torque : 12 Nm
  1. Torque : 9 Nm
    1. Seal (7D258)
    1. Backing ring (7J324)
    1. Torque : 9 Nm
    1. Torque : 30 Nm
